# Share an animation

> Share a snapshot, open an editable copy, or revoke a link.

A share link opens a snapshot of your animation. Anyone with the link can play it, download its source, or export it.

## Create a link

1. [Save the animation to your account](/docs/get-started/account-and-signing-in.md#save-guest-work-to-your-account) and wait for cloud-save confirmation.
2. Choose **Share → Create snapshot link**.
3. Choose **Copy link** and send it.

## Share later changes

Editing the original does not update an existing snapshot. Save your changes and create a new snapshot link.

## Open an editable copy

Choose **Open copy in Libre** and sign in to save an editable copy in your **Drafts**. Changes to the copy leave the original and shared snapshot unchanged. Viewing and exporting the snapshot do not require an account.

## Stop access

Open **Share** on the original animation and choose **Revoke link**. Moving the original to **Trash** revokes all its links. Recipients keep any files they already downloaded or copied.

## Unavailable links and limits

* **A link is unavailable:** ask its owner for a new one. The original may be in **Trash**, or the link may have been revoked.
* **Copying or exporting fails:** check your connection and reopen the link.
* **Creating a link is waiting for a save:** follow [Cloud saving](/docs/save/autosave-and-restore.md#cloud-saving). If another version was saved elsewhere, [resolve the conflict](/docs/save/autosave-and-restore.md#multiple-tabs-and-conflicts) first.
* **Copy link fails:** select the link field and press `⌘/Ctrl + C`.
* **Revoking fails:** retry and check the link's status; access may still be active.

> [accordion] Share link limits
>
> An animation supports **20 active links**; revoke an old one before adding another. An account can create **50 links per hour** and copy shared animations **60 times per hour**. Wait up to an hour if you reach an hourly limit.
